Jan Skrkon - Trustee

 

Jan Skrkon, the BBH Executive Dining Room Chef, hasn’t always worked at BBH. He was born in Slovakia, Europe where he studied at a Hotel and Catering Trade School. He then went on to study at Hotel Catering College in Czechoslovakia and externed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin, East Germany.

 

He has worked at the New York Hilton as well as Café Geiger, a Famous East German restaurant in Manhattan. While working at Café Geiger he cooked for food shows at Gimbels’ department store and on the Fox Television Network During a Christmas special featuring food from countries around the world.

 

Chef Jan is a Certified American Culinary Federation Executive Chef and the trustee at ICA/ACF Big Apple Chapter. In the past he has held the post of treasurer. He has participated in many food shows with the ACF - Big Apple including shows at the Jacob Javits Center.
